Winner of the 1939 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Our Town is a three-act play that tells the story of a fictional town known as Grover’s Corner set between 1901 and 1913. “Narrated by the stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre – die.” (description provided by Samuel French)
Our Executive Director Jack Benjamin is retiring at the end of this upcoming season. Jack has been with the University for over 30 years and has built the theatre program from the ground up during his career. This production of Our Town will be an homage to his dedication to his students and to the University.
